One of five species of frigate bird. Able to soar for weeks on wind currents, frigate birds spend most of the day in flight hunting for food, and roost on trees or cliffs at night. Their main prey are fish and squid, caught when chased to the water surface by large predators such as tuna. Frigate birds are referred to as kleptoparasites as they occasionally rob other seabirds for food.

Frigatebirds take many years to reach sexual maturity. A study of great frigatebirds in the Galapagos Islands found that they only bred once they have acquired the full adult plumage. This was attained by female birds when they were eight to nine years of age and by male birds when they were ten to eleven years of age.

Of the three most widespread species of frigatebirds the Magnificient is much more coastal, less pelagic than the other two: Greater Fregata minor, and Lesser Fregata ariel.

The Brown Pelican breeds on islands or in remote coastal locations, placing its nest on the ground, on a cliff, or occasionally in a shrub or small tree. Unlike most pelicans, it is highly marine and feeds largely by plunge-diving.

The brown pelican mainly feeds on fish, but occasionally eats amphibians, crustaceans, and the eggs and nestlings of birds. It nests in colonies in secluded areas, often on islands, vegetated land among sand dunes, thickets of shrubs and trees, and mangroves.

Albatross range widely in the Southern Ocean and the North Pacific. They are absent from the North Atlantic, although fossil remains show they once occurred there and occasional vagrants are found. Albatrosses are among the largest of flying birds, and the genus great albatrosses have the longest wingspans of any extant birds, reaching up to 3.7 m (12 ft).

Albatrosses live much longer than other birds; they delay breeding for longer and invest more effort into fewer young. Most species survive upwards of 50 years, the oldest recorded being a Laysan albatross named Wisdom that was ringed in 1956 as a mature adult and hatched another chick in February 2017, making her at least 66 years old. She is the oldest confirmed wild bird and the oldest banded bird in the world.

The Blue-footed Booby spends much of it time at sea searching for congregations of shoaling fish, on which it feeds by plunge-diving from great heights allowing them to access fish at greater depths than other competitors.
